| We are developing this Knowledge Center primarily as a resource for growers, extension professionals at the county and regional level, but also for students and other industry professionals who may not have the opportunity to access class material at local institutions. Since much of the content on this site may need student-instructor interaction, we need to figure out how these modules can be actively supported. That usually means support money. For this reason, we will probably charge a user fee for certain modules, in particular those accessed by individuals for credit or for certification purposes. In time, we hope to be offer certification through organizations like the Natural Resource Conservation Service Technical Service Provider program. All the Basic modules (*) will be open access (after user registration). Other modules will be accessible for a small user fee (between $25 and $50), to provide for continuing maintenance of the Moodle site. Access by extension and education professionals for all modules used in continuing education programs will be free (after registration). Registration of classes directly in the Moodle course modules will be subject to negotiation between the users and the authors of the modules. The developers of the individual modules in this Knowledge Center have invested a considerable amount of intellectual effort in providing these materials, and we trust that you will respect their contributions, by recognizing their materials if you use them in your classes.        |
